12/4/2010 - 164th Airlift Wing Memphis, TN -- The holiday season is right around the corner! It's a time for giving, for friends and family, and for reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the next. I hope you and your family are taking the time this season to slow down and enjoy time spent with one another. And if you are away from a loved one, find ways to keep those separated by distance close at heart.
And, please don't forget about our TOY SOLDIER PROJECT - HELPING OUR OWN
Collection boxes for (new) toys have been placed in most buildings on base. Please make a special effort to bring a toy for our "Toy Soldier" project. Anything will be greatly appreciated. We need toys suitable for girls and boys of all ages. It doesn't have to be an expensive toy, but we do request that it is a new toy. Giving to help others is rewarding, especially when it means helping take care of your fellow Airmen.
We will be collecting toys through December 10. The toys will then be distributed to our Air Guard families who are experiencing financial difficulties. The Chaplains office, Airmen & Family Readiness, and the First Sergeants are working together on this project. If a guard member is experiencing a hardship this holiday season, they can contact their First Sergeant with information on the number and ages of children in their family.
Please help make this project a BIG success and spread some holiday cheer!
