CMSgt Chief Master Sgt. Michael R. Bolton


Chief Master Sergeant Michael R. Bolton is the Command Chief for the 164th Airlift Wing, Tennessee ANG, Memphis, TN.  As the Wing Command Chief, Chief Bolton is the senior enlisted leader of the Wing and the key enlisted advocate and advisor on operational effectiveness and the organization, training and equipping of the enlisted Airman to the Wing Commander.  Chief Bolton advises the Wing Commander on issues concerning enlisted promotions, inductions, recognition programs, CCAF graduations, and awards and decorations.
Chief Bolton entered the Air Force in November 1988.  After completing Basic Training Chief Bolton attended Technical School for Inventory Management Specialist.  Chief Bolton served 8 years on Active Duty before joining the 164th Airlift Wing in October 1996.  In October 2006 Chief Bolton was selected as a First Sergeant for the 164th Aerial Port Squadron and completed the First Sergeant Academy in November 2006.  Chief Bolton Deployed to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates in January 2008 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa as the First Sergeant for the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, 380th Air Expeditionary Services Squadron.  In 2012 Chief Bolton was selected to be the First Sergeant for the National Guards Global Guardian Exercise in Savannah, GA.  Chief Bolton served as a First Sergeant until his selection as the 164th Airlift Wing Human Resources Advisor in May 2013. In 2016 Chief Bolton was selected to become the first 164 Mission Support Group Superintendent.  Chief Bolton was selected as the 6th Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 164th Airlift Wing in October 2020.
