Yellow Ribbon Program

"For those who serve, and those who support", this is the saying associated with the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program.

National Guard and Reserve members have a unique challenge relative to their active duty counterparts, since many will return to full-time civilian employment following their military duties. Additionally, without the support of an active duty installation, many encounter difficulty finding or getting access to the care that they need for any injuries, illnesses, or conditions incurred as a result of their deployment.

The YRRP serves to provide support and outreach to National Guard and Reserve members throughout the deployment cycle by offering information, services, referrals, and proactive outreach opportunities. More specific information about the program can be found at their webpage at www.yellowribbon.mil.

For those members of the 164th Airlift Wing who have been deployed for 90 or more consecutive days, or 90 plus cumulative days in FY09 and to date in FY10, a post deployment Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Workshop will be held on Saturday, the 28th of August at the Hilton Hotel(939 Ridge Lake Blvd, Memphis) from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. This program will provide information and resources on the benefits you have earned and other programs available to both military and family members.

Attendees will be authorized special training days for this event on the 27th and 28th of August as well as travel, lodging and per diem. The wing commander has authorized those service and family members residing within commuting distance of the hotel to be housed at government expense.

The 164th AW has plans to hold at least one workshop per year, and possibly more depending upon the number of members who have deployed for the amount of time listed above.

For any questions on the workshop, please contact our Airman and Family Readiness center at 901-291-7125.
